Rolls-Royce Phantom Hybrid

EV cars and hybrids are the main subject in the automotive world nowadays. So normally it would be kinda logical to see supercars and luxury vehicles getting an “environmental friendly” version of their own. Just for marketing purposes, of course. If there is a car that seems to be suited to this “Going Green” hype, the Rolls-Royce Phantom would seem to be a rather interesting candidate. The guys at Man on the Move spotted an extended-wheelbase Phantom in the streets of NY with some hybrid badges on the side fenders. The same type used for GM’s hybird cars. So what’s the deal here?

The driver stated that the car was loaned to a VIP client for evaluation by Rolls-Royce. The underlying story is maybe the fact that BMW is working on a two-mode hybrid system in partnership with GM, Daimler and Chrysler. So a two-mode Phantom could be a possibility, but is still a long way from production.

We think this is a some kind of humor, a nice one…
