Piecha Design has unveiled their Avalange RS body kit for the Mercedes SL R230. The package has an entirely re-engineered front skirt, side skirts and rear bumper with optional carbon fibre diffuser. Parts of the body kit also fit on the facelift of the Mercedes SL from 04/2008 including the AMG models SL 63 and SL 65.

Piecha Design has placed its one-lamella grill between the double headlights which is typical for the SL facelift since 2008. The front skirt is made of elastomer-modified fibre glass composite material. Compared to normal glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP), this has three advantages: perfect fit, even higher stability and at the same time a lower weight. Fog lights with chrome rings and black, xenon-bright LED daytime running lights are already built into the front skirt and are included in the delivery. The kit can be ordered for automobiles with or without the parking assistant system.

Next to the new front there are chromed bonnet fins, SL-R side fins extended right to the doors and side skirts with a reverse air inlet pointing towards the rear. A discreet rear spoiler lip on the boot lid is available, optionally also in carbon fibre.

The rear skirt can also be ordered with or without Parktronic. Piecha design offers a new diffuser which is limited by the four pipe system of the sport rear QUADRO exhaust system. Alternatively, QUADRO 4-pipe tail ends are also available which can be welded to the serial Mercedes exhaust.

Except for the front skirt, all aerodynamics components also fit on the facelift of the Mercedes SL from 04/2008 including the AMG models SL 63 and SL 65.
