Follow Up Crash Porsche Test Driver

Porsche Test Crash

About five weeks ago we reported about a fatal car crash involving a Porsche prototype. Investigators have determined the cause of the accident that killed the driver and destroyed the car was due to a driver error. The prosecutor’s office excluded excessive speed and technical defect as possible factors in the accident. The investigation concluded the convertible was travelling at a rate of about 75 mph (120 kmh) when crashing into the barrier.

That confirms a previous statement by Porsche indicating that the vehicle was not involved in a high speed test. At the time, witnesses had said the car was being driven at a rate of speed that was too fast but on that certain stretch on the A5 autobahn between Frankfurt and Heidelberg is no speed limit.
