G-Power Hurricane RS Breaks World Record

thumbf3e5436057

The last news we heard from German company G-Power was their BMW M6 tuning program, however they’ve been busy fiddling with the M5 recently and have created a world record breaker. The Hurricane RS broke the world record in November 2008 to become the worlds fastest road legal production sedan. The 228.4mph RS is an evolution the the Hurricane tuning package we’ve reported on previously.

With 750bhp, theres an extra 20bhp on tap realised by G-Power partner ASA’s supercharger technology. This allowed a greater capacity for the supercharger and higher boost levels of 0.8bar from the previous 0.7bar. G-power suggests that this could be further increased to 1.1bar, leaving enough depth for the car to increase the record if need be.

This speed was clocked and certified at the ATP High-Seed test track in Papenburg, breaking the Brabus rocket’s previous record of 227.2mph (365,7 km/h). We don’t reckon it’ll remain like this for long though!
