The guys in Ingolstadt (Germany) are very busy these days. After the news on the brand new A7, which will be a wonderful car, there’s now something leaked on a Audi R8 V12 TDi. This newest Audi will be presented on the Detroit Car show this month.
We can say it was only a matter of time before Audi would bring his racing technology into a street-legal car. If we believe the article the Audi R8 V12 TDI will produce a stunning 500 bhp with 1,000 Nm of torque, 0 – 62mph (100 kmh) in just 4.2 seconds, top speed will be over 187 mph (300 kmh). The fuel consumption is rated at 10 liters per 62 miles (100 km).
Disadvantage of the V12 TDI over the V8 is that the little trunk space is entirely gone due to the V12 size and it weighs 100 kg more too. But we don’t believe that’s really a negative point here. What you can see very clear on the pictures is the huge rear wing and the new design for the exhaust pipes.
