We are proud to present you the final version of the Ferrari F430 Challenge. After showing you some spyshots of the challenge stradale, we can now show you official pics and specs on the engine, weight, etc of the race version of the F430. The Challenge Stradale will be the roadlegal version of this F430 Challenge!
To take a seat in the F430 Challenge you need some skills, because you have to pass the roll cage which is all around the car. After the crawling you will fall in love with the pure race technique. Ferrari took everything out the car that could give ‘too much’ weight (e.g. there are no electric windows, the windows are made of lexan-plastic, the door is carbon and all leather and airbags are removed). But that’s not all, the speedometer is a simple digital display. Only the old start, light and ventilation buttons can still be found back.
Under the hood we can still find the 4.3 V8 engine producing 490 bhp. Because the Challenge is 225kg leighter than his ‘normal’ brother, the constructors didn’t find it necessary to give the Ferrari more horsepower. Also the exhaust system has been modified to save a few kilos, but it’s also placed more up and in the middle of the car, which is not bad if you ask us!
With all this power on the road or track you can guess you’ll need very good brakes, which Ferrari created with their new system called CCM (Composite Carbon-Ceramique). It saves another 3% of your breaking time and that can be the metres between nothing and heavy a crash.
