Some of you might remember this car from the promotional line-up at the start of the Gumball 3000 in may 2005. It’s the Gumpert Apollo. Back in may it was still a concept car, but the car is in serial production now and the delivery of the first car can be expected this month. The car is powered by a 650 BHP Audi RS6 engine with two turbochargers, which makes the car capable of doing speeds over 350 km/h.

The Gumpert Apollo is build by a company called Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH run by Roland Gumpert. Roland Gumpert has a long and impressive track record in car development and motor sport at Audi. The first design of the Gumpert Apollo was drawn by Marco Vanetta back in 2002.

Prices for the Gumpert Apollo start at 198.000 euros. And Gumpert expects to sell about 50 – 60 Gumpert Apollo’s a year mainly in Europe and Dubai.

The Gumpert Apollo was shown at the Essen Motor Show last week. Next it will be shown on the Dubai Motor Show from 12 till 16 december.
