Aston Martin has revealed images of the upcoming DB11 Volante, a soft top version of the DB11 Coupe. A market launch is set for Spring 2018, as part of the model lineup in Aston Martin’s “second century” plan that kicked off with the DB11.

The DB11 is the first Aston Martin to use a twin turbo V12 engine, which will be joined by a 4.0L V8 biturbo engine from Mercedes-AMG in future. Like the Coupe variant, the DB11 Volante will likely have both V12 and V8 engines. As of now, the 5.2L V12 twin-turbo unit produces 600bhp and 700 Nm of torque, allowing for a sprint of 0-100 km/h in just 3.9s and a top speed of 322 km/h.

While a V8 engine will ultimately highlight the new partnership between Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG, the current DB11 already carries an array of Mercedes tech planted on its electronics architecture. This partnership will continue to thrive on future Aston Martin cars including the 2018 Aston Martin Vantage.
