As the development of the second generation Audi A7 is still in its early stages, some of the contours and design aspects of the new luxury fastback are visible in the following gallery of recently taken spy shots. It appears that the characteristic silhouette of the A7 will remain the way it is and that most changes to the car’s design can be seen in the details.

Although it’s heavily camouflaged, we can get a slight idea of how Audi design director Marc Lichte will put his stamp on the new A7. As with most models in the current Audi range, the design seems to get a bit sharper and edgier, with hard lines and angles replacing the current more rounded ones, especially at the car’s aggressive front.

With mainly the details of the car being changed and tweaked, it’s clear that Audi plans on maintaining roughly the same proportions of the luxury sedan. While details on its release are yet to be revealed, it’s expected that the new A7 will closely follow the launch of the new generation A6 in 2018.
