The Nissan GT-R was a game changer for Nissan. It has been around since 2007 though, so we are expecting a next-generation model to appear at some point in 2018. Until then, Nissan will keep updating the existing car. These spy shots appear to show a 2017 Nissan GT-R testing in California.

The photos show a few styling revisions applied to the existing shape. They include a revised front fascia with a deeper and more aggressive air intake under the grille. At the rear, there are new LED lights, a revised bumper cover and a sharper, more angular look than the existing car.

It is impossible to tell what sits under the camo paintwork, however, we suspect it may push close to 600 hp. The 3.8 litre V6 engine currently produces 545 hp and 591 hp in the NISMO version. Mild modifications will allow it to push closer towards that 600 hp figure and keep the GT-R fresh in preparation for the next generation car.

Nissan have also hinted at their desire to make the Nissan GT-R feel more premium. It should get increased options lists with premium leather interiors and high-end sound system. We expect to see the 2017 Nissan GT-R sometime in 2016, with deliveries in or around autumn.
