England-based Land Rover specialist Overfinch has marked its 40th anniversary by unveiling a special edition Land Rover Defender. Only five units of this model will be created with each getting a uniquely numbered plaque.

For the exterior modifications, Overfinch has put a new bonnet, front grille, front bumper, LED daytime running lights and sport lamps. The Defender also gets chequered plating on the side sills while the rear quarter panels have been finished in black satin to enhance the aggressive look. Meanwhile, the fuel cap has been machined in aluminium with Overfinch branding on it.

At the rear, you find a swing away rear arm, a rear step with an electric tow bar, upgraded rear LED lighting, tailgate lettering and painted mirror backs. 18-inch wheels in gloss black deliver a sporty touch to the SUV.

Moving on to the interior, there’s Recaro front seats with Bridge of Weir upholstery, aluminium pedals, sport-style instrument dials, a Bluetooth connected Alpine Double Din satellite navigation, DAB radio and a reversing camera.

Overfinch Chairman, Kevin Sloane, said: “This special edition vehicle offers owners the chance to own a piece of exclusive Overfinch and Defender history. The Defender is arguably the world’s most famous car and Overfinch is the global leader in Land Rover enhancements, so it is fitting that the original Land Rover marks our 40th anniversary.”

Each unit will be sold for over £70,000.
