Ford Mustang was Best Selling Sports Car in Germany in March

In rather surprising news, it has been announced that the new Ford Mustang has become the bestselling sports car in Germany for the month of March.

According to European sales data, the Ford Mustang was the best-selling sports car in Germany beating out the likes of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The total number of Mustangs sold in Germany in March was 780. While not a large number compared to the 12,563 sold in the United States during the same time, it was enough to come out as the bestselling sports car.

The Mustang outsold the likes of the Porsche 911, BMW Z4, Audi TT, Jaguar F-Type and Porsche Boxster/Cayman.

While the Mustang may have posted strong sales numbers in March it is not the bestselling sports car in Germany this year. That honor goes to the Audi TT, which has sold a total of 2,299 units through the end of last month.

To date the Mustang has sold 1,823 units in Germany.
