Sebastian Vettel was the fastest man again on day 2 of the 2016 Formula 1 pre-season testing that is currently underway at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Ferrari driver clocked a stunningly quick 1m 22.810s lap, two seconds quicker than last year’s pole position time in Spain.

Mercedes-AMG on the other hand continued to focus on mileage, Nico Rosberg pushed the bar further with an amazing 172 laps from the new Mercedes-AMG F1 W07 Hybrid, Hamilton topped the mileage score yesterday with 156 laps. Nonetheless, most teams managed to do more than 100 laps today including Williams Valtteri Bottas who was second after Rosberg in the lap count with 134 laps.
Daniel Ricciardo was the second fastest man on the field after recording a personal best lap of 1m 23.525s in the new Red Bull RB12. Sergio Perez put Force India in third place on the timesheets with an incredible lap of 1m 23.650s. Rosberg was the fourth fastest driver leading Sauber’s Marcus Ericsson and the Haas VF-16 of Esteban Gutierrez.

Renault incurred a power unit problem with Joy Palmer on the wheel, their day came to an early close with a total of 42 laps, an improvement of yesterday’s 37 laps. Max Verstappen also caused a stoppage when his Toro Rosso struggled briefly, the youngster was able to get back on track before recording 121 laps.
