Swedish automaker Koenigsegg has confirmed the sale of all 25 units of the Agera RS. The latter made its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2015, which means that all the models have been acquired in about 10 months- making the Agera RS the fastest selling Koenigsegg in the company’s history.
Owners come from all parts of the world- ranging from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom to China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and of-course, the Middle East markets of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE.
Generally speaking, the Agera RS bridges the gap between the One:1 and the Agera R. For the RS, Koenigsegg add advanced lightweight sound insulation, a new track optimised front splitter, front winglets, side skirts, an advanced dynamic underbody flap system and a dynamically active rear spoiler to the Agera package. The Agera RS now produces 450 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. It also benefits from improved air outlets around the front wheels, more power and a raised rpm limit. The Koenigsegg 5.0 litre V8 engine has been optimized for regular pump gas and now puts out an incredible 1160 hp on regular petrol.
While several units have already been delivered, there are some that will undergo production this year and will be shipped in 2017.
“I am extremely proud of the Agera RS program. The RS is a classic Koenigsegg, with all the core values and features that the Koenigsegg brand stands for. The performance, road feel and responsiveness are truly amazing and the level of technical sophistication is second to none. It is a true ‘pinnacle’ project that has been wholly embraced by our customers and friends,” said Christian von Koenigsegg.
