South African racer David Perel recently got behind the wheels of a Lamborghini Huracan in Cape Town. This was the first time that Perel got his hands on a road-legal Lamborghini, despite driving a homologated Gallardo for the Lamborghini Bonaldi Motorsport in the Italian GT.

An on-board video of Perel driving the Huracan can be seen above, which includes a visit to a supercar event where he goes head-to-head with a McLaren 650S and a superbike.

Perel is a highly-rated driver in the Italian GT, having achieved four podiums this term after the first four events. These include wins at Vallelunga and Imola. Not to forget, the 30-year-old has got two pole positions as well.

Perel got into racing at the age of 15 when he entered professional kart racing, however, he left the field at 23 owing to lack of funds. Subsequently, he set up a business with his brother and after saving enough money, Perel returned to the racing arena last year.

Even though Perel lacked a bit of track practice, he has shone since his return. A video of him driving in the Italian GT is embedded above. He has achieved beyond expectations and is hopeful of a strong finish to the season with three events remaining.
