Tesla Model X Detailed and Leaked Before Reveal

Before customer deliveries start later this month, the first official images of the production-spec Tesla Model X have surfaced thanks to the vehicle’s private configurator. The configurator has also provided many other details about the electric SUV.

As we expected, the production-spec Tesla Model X looks very similar to the original concept and is available with seven seats. As the marque promised, it features the same advanced ‘falcon’ doors of the concept which open up into the expansive and familiar cabin.

Performance wise, the range-topping ‘Signature Series’ model will be powered by a 90 kWh battery pack combining a 259 hp electric motor for the front wheels and a 503 hp electric motor at the rear. In standard guise, it will hit 96 km/h in just 3.8 seconds as well as a top speed of 250 km/h. When the Ludicrous Speed Upgrade is optioned, that 0-96 km/h sprint time will fall to a blistering 3.2 seconds with the quarter mile passing in just 11.7 seconds.

Also found on the Model X Signature Series is an Autopilot self-parking system and heated and cooled leather seats. It will start from $132,000.

Expect more official details about the Model X range soon.
