Bangalore (aka Bengaluru) lies in the southern part of India and has one of the best supercar scenes in the country. Roads are less populated than in Mumbai and Delhi, giving the city’s Ferrari and Lamborghini owners the opportunity to take out their rides more often.
GTspirit recently covered the 15 hottest supercars in Mumbai and this article follows a similar pattern, providing you with the 15 best exotics in Bangalore.
The Jaguar XKR-S was first displayed at the Geneva Motor Show 2011, along with the facelifted XK. Some of the models made way to India, including the one in the blue exterior paint shown above. The power in the vehicle comes from a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 unit, delivering 542 hp and 680 Nm of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h time is 4 seconds.
14. BMW M4
The BMW M4 Coupe arrived on the Indian shores in November 2014, along with the new M3. Under the hood of the M4 is a 3.0 liter twin-turbocharged inline-six gasoline motor capable of producing 425 hp and 550 Nm of torque. Power is transferred to the rear axle via a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Wondering how much the owner paid for the red M4? Well, more than INR 11.9 million ($180,000).
13. Porsche 911 Turbo S
The only Porsche on the list is the range-topping 911 Turbo S. It costs INR 25.9 million- which translates to about $392,000. For this price, the owner gets a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine that generates 560 hp and 700 Nm of torque, allowing the 911 to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in up to 3.1 seconds.
12. Ferrari 458 Italia
The Black Stallion 458 Italia is the second Ferrari on the list. Interestingly, both the 458 Speciale and the 458 Italia belong to the same supercar club, based out of Bangalore and called the “Exotic Automotive Supercar Club”. The club recently took its collection to a private airport strip for some drag races. Needless to say, the 458 Speciale pipped the Italia.
11. Audi R8 V10
Audi ended 2014 as India’s leading luxury car brandand the R8 is one of the most popular supercars in the country- it’s luxurious, has a strong road presence and is more practical and cheaper than its Italian counterparts. Cricketer Virat Kohli owns one of the 99 R8 LMX editions and this list gets a stunning all-black R8 V10.
10. Ferrari 599 GTB
Bangalore has 13 Ferraris and this 599 GTB is one of those that are sparsely spotted. Under the hood, there’s a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 shooting out 612 hp and 608 Nm of torque. The 599 can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of over 330 km/h.
9. Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster
One of the two apparent Lamborghini Murcielago Roadsters in Bangalore. Primarily designed as an open-top car, customers get a retractable soft-top that is typically to be used in adverse weather conditions. While Lamborghini states that with the roof in place, one shouldn’t drive the Murcielago Roadster at more than 160 km/h, some owners have taken it to 200 km/h without experiencing any issues.
8. Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG
This white G63 AMG completes our 15 best exotics of Bangalore. Mercedes-Benz launched the vehicle in 2013 and it is arguably the most sought-after SUV in India. Powered by a 5.5-liter supercharged V8 generating 544 hp and 760 Nm of torque, the G63 AMG can propel from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds.
7. Black Lamborghini Huracan
This black-on-black Lamborghini Huracan sports Novitec Torado carbon-fiber wing (1st Huracan in the world to get one), Frequency Intelligent Exhaust system and BMC filters. It is probably the meanest Huracan one will come across in India. It gets a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 that pushes out 602 hp and 560 Nm of torque. Lamborghini claims that the Huracan can can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 9.9 seconds. Not bad for a supercar introduced at INR 34.3 million ($518,000).
6. Orange Lamborghini Huracan
Another Huracan on the list, this one with orange exterior paint. Compared to its sibling above, it’s not as aggressive, but has an elegant appearance.
5. BMW i8
Not many BMW i8 models have been sold in India. Priced at INR 22.9 million ($346,000), the i8 was first showcased in the Asian country at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 before the official launch took place earlier this year. It combines a 1.5-litre TwinPower Turbo 3-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produce a total of 356 hp. The hybrid sportscar can reach 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.
4. Ferrari 458 Speciale
This is the only Ferrari 458 Speciale in India, imported earlier this month (although it’s reported that a second has been acquired by a customer in Delhi). Officially listed at INR 42.5 million ($642,000), it is powered by the 458 Italia’s 4.5-litre V8 engine that has been retuned to produce 597 hp and 540 Nm of torque. The 458 Speciale can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds, which is 0.4 seconds faster than the 458 Italia, and has an electronically limited top speed of 325 km/h.
3. Lamborghini Aventador
This yellow Lamborghini Aventador has a DMC rear wing and its owner probably spent over INR 40 million ($600,000) to buy the vehicle. 1. Lamborghini Aventador Roadster
There are two Aventador Roadsters in India- both belonging to residents in Bangalore. In the above picture, you see the first one. It was followed by a one in white exterior paint. The Roadster has the same mechanical configuration as the standard Aventador, despite getting a removable top. This is because the latter consists of two carbon-fiber panels that weigh just 6 kg. The Aventador Roadster was priced at INR 47 million ($710,000) when it was launched in India more two years back.
