Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has opened a new property in Tangshan, China: Shangri-La Hotel, Tangshan. The hotel is located in the business district of Phoenix New Town, a two-hour drive from country’s capital Beijing. It is situated within the Tangshan Kerry Property complex and is adjoined by a shopping mall and a landscaped park.
There are 310 rooms in the hotel, ranging from 45 to 135 sq.m. All are furnished in classic decor, featuring Chinese paintings and local ceramic ware and have cable TV along with a minibar. There are also 34 apartments, styled as studios and one and two bedroom apartments.
Services provided to the guests include free high-speed WiFi and access to the hotel’s health club consisting of a 24-hour gym and swimming facilities. For dining, there’s the Tang Huang Ge restaurant (Jing Dong and Cantonese cuisines) and Cafe Shang (international and local fare). The Lobby Lounge serves a plethora of homemade cakes and pastries. Furthermore, there are nine conference and banquet facilities.
The Shangri-La Hotel, Tangshan is 10 minutes from the Tangshan Railway Station and 30 minutes from the Tangshan Sannuhe Airport. To celebrate the launch of the hotel, Shangri-La is offering promotional packages until the end of 2015.
The Hong Kong-based company, which also runs “Kerry” and “Traders” brands of hotels, has 54 properties in Mainland China, including those that are currently under construction or at planning stage.
