The very first production-spec Koenigsegg One:1 has officially been registered in Germany. Due to the immense power of the car however, it was far from a regular vehicle registration!
Because the Koenigsegg One:1 delivers exactly 1341 hp (the equivalent of one megawatt), Germany had to reconfigure their car registration system because translated into kilowatts, the One:1 delivers exactly 1000 kw. However, Germany’s computer system only accepts cars with kilowatt outputs into the three figure range. As a result, there’s no doubting the fact that the Koenigsegg One:1 truly is the world’s first megacar!
Alongside the insane power figure, the One:1 pumps out 1371 Nm of torque. When combined with an overall weight of just 1341 kg, the One:1 features a perfect 1 hp to 1 kg power to weight ratio. The only other production car to achieve such a figure is the Hennessey Venom GT.
The Koenigsegg One:1 is expected to reach speeds in excess of 450 km/h so aerodynamics are key to the One:1 package. Thanks to the new front facia and the Le Mans prototype inspired rear wing, downforce at 260 km/h is equal to 610 kg whilst at 440km/h, the One:1 develops 830 kg. The One:1 is able to pull 2G’s of force in the corners!
Venom GT? You mean a Lotus Esprit with Chevy V8 bolted on. Hah! Compared to the exquisite One:1, it’s a piece of garbage.
You mean an Elise.
