We have officially arrived at the Mille Miglia 2014! Today consisted of technical checks at the Fiera di Brescia. The teams received their racing numbers and road-books. A few of the cars also headed for mass and a blessing at the Duomo Vecchio in Piazza Paolo VI in the evening, a Mille Miglia tradition.
Famous names we spotted in the paddock included Jay Leno, Brian Johnson, Bruno Senna and Martin Brundle; all of which are driving the route with Jaguar. The technical checks continue tomorrow when the cars are moved from Fiera di Brescia to the Piazza della Vittoria. The teams will then get a buffet dinner at Museo della Mille Miglia in Viale della Bornata before heading out of town at 6pm.
We spotted the replica ‘Blue Wonder’ Mercedes-Benz transporter carrying an expensive Mercedes-Benz SL300 racer. We also spotted the legendary Jaguar Ecurie Ecosse team bus complete with racing C-Type!
