German tuning company ABT Sportsline has given its performance treatment to the latest faclifted version of the Audi S8 sedan.
ABT’s new engine control unit ups the output of the S8’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine from 520 horsepower to a significant 640 horsepower. The torque has also seen a bump from 650 Nm to 780 Nm and the speed limiter has been removed, allowing the S8 to reach a top speed of 280 km/h.
To make sure it has the sporty looks to go along with the extra dollop of performance, ABT has fitted the S8 with a four-pipe stainless steel exhaust system, 21-inch ABT DR alloy wheels and ABT Level Control springs which have lowered the car by 25 mm in both the front and rear.
Audi pulled the wraps off of its 2014 S8 sedan towards the end of last year after giving it a mid-cycle refresh. In standard form, the car produces 520 horsepower from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels through Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system, will help the car hug the road as it unleashes its power and sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.
