Peugeot is the latest to announce their plans for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013. Performance versions of Peugeot vehicles will lead with a dynamic demonstration while their Onyx Concept car which features a 600bhp V8 diesel-electric hybrid powerhouse will take a center stage. The Peugeot 208 GTi will take part in the famous Goodwood hill climb at the Thursday Moving Motor Show.

So far, we have announced several plans by different car manufactures at this year’s event: Porsche will take the center stage with the 911, as it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the model. Bentley will bring the new Flying Spur, two of their Speed 8 Le Mans winning cars and the Continental GT Speed, the fastest 4-seat convertible in the world at a top speed of 202 mph.

The recently revealed McLaren P1 is set to make its world public driving debut at the event too, the McLaren 12C GT Can AM will accompany it. Lastly, an unknown supercar manufacturer called VŪHL announced that it is planning to introduce its first supercar at the event.

Let’s get back to Peugeot; the Onyx Concept will lead the pack. The car features a carbon fibre shell that houses a mid-mounted 3.7-litre V8 HDi FAP diesel-electric hybrid powerhouse. That unit produces 600bhp thanks to the six-speed sequential gearbox and NACA ducts in the double-bubble roofline.

With the help of the HYbrid4 technology, the system recovers energy stored in the lithium-ion batteries, boosts the power up by 80bhp!
