Patented Photos Leak of Toyota FT-86 Convertible

Patented images of the long-awaited Toyota GT 86 Convertible have leaked online showcasing the convertible with its soft top up for the very first time.

The pictures were picked up by Car & Driver and are official European patent papers and should consequently showcase exactly what the production ready version will look like.

These images provide us our first look at the cheap, lightweight sports-car with its roof in place after the Toyota FT-86 Open Concept debuted at Geneva with its roof down.

And we can fortunately report that the Toyota GT 86 Convertible has maintained very similar lines to the coupe with the roof up as it features a heavily slopped rear plastic window!

It’s currently unclear when the Toyota GT 86 Convertible will debut in production form, but a major auto show late this year seems likely.
