The Blancpain Endurance Series, only recently founded a few years ago, has become one of the predominant GT series in the world.

The first round of the championship, which will occur later this month at Monza, will see the start of American driver Rodin Younessi contest of the full 2013 series. He will be racing in a McLaren MP4-12C GT3, becoming the first American to do so. In 2012, Younessi competed in the IndyLights series as well as the Baltimore round of the American Le Mans Series, where he drove a Le Mans Prototype Challenge Car.

Following up a run at the 24 Hours of Dubai earlier this year, Rodin had the following to say: “I’m looking forward to competing on behalf of Younessi Racing in the MRS McLaren,” said Rodin
Younessi. “I was able to compete in the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 at 24hr of Dubai a few months ago, and was very impressed with the car’s performance. I anticipate good results with my teammates.”

Younessi will compete with teammates Brazilian Carlos Kray and Austrian Philipp Eng. The first round of the Blancpain Endurance Series is set for April 13-14 at the famous Monza circuit in Italy.
