Cadillac Racing 2013

Team Cadillac is looking for another win at this year’s Pirelli World Challenge Series set to kick off at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, while the second round on Sunday at 10:25 a.m.

Team Cadillac won the championship last year thanks to team drivers Johnny O’Connell the 2012 Pirelli World Challenge GT Driver’s Champion and Andy Pilgrim, runner-up in GT points. They won four races with the first being at the season opening St. Petersburg Grand Prix, the second in the streets of Long Beach and the last two race wins on the Belle Isle Circuit in Detroit.

Johnny says that the championship was not as a result of fast cars, but staying out of trouble was the key point to winning. He says they will repeat the same using the same smartness considering there will be faster cars like the new McLaren MP4-12C and the likes of the Audi R8.

This is what Johnny O’Connell said in regard to the two new added circuits:

Of course everyone seems to love COTA (Circuit of the America’s), and I’m hopeful that the circuit suits our CTS-V Coupes well. I’ve actually won in Houston when I was driving the Corvette in the ALMS (American Le Mans Series). So I’m looking forward to trying to achieve the same with the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.
