Video: Rare Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 Hits the Track in the Philippines

When Porsche released the first ground-up redesign of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS with the 997.2 generation, many reporters believed that such a car simply couldn’t be improved any further. However, Porsche managed to do just that with the release of the ever crazier GT3 RS 4.0 of 2011.

Complete with an increased engine capacity to 4000cc, up from the standard 3.8-liter unit, the RS 4.0 produces an absolutely reasonable 500hp and even though that may not seem like that much, the addition of a lightweight body, stripped-out interior and 6-speed manual transmission makes for one of the best drivers cars on the planet.

And the precision and speed of the 4.0 has been captured brilliantly in the following video filmed by a Pilipino owner at his local Batangas Racing Circuit in the Philippines. Even though the car is rear wheel-drive, there is absolutely no sign of oversteer in the following video and while that may not be as fun to contest with, it does make for much faster lap times!
