McLaren Supplies Engines for New Electric Racing Series

British company McLaren Electronic Systems has signed an agreement to supply electric engine for a new FIA racing series, called Formula E. The new series will start in 2014 with cars built by a company called Spark Racing Technology.

Like the standard electric control units in every Formula 1 car, the company will also provide the motor, transmission and electronics for the new race car.
