Pagani has brought the Zonda R Evolution to the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012. But the updated version of the track based Zonda R has been spotted ‒ before its official debut at Goodwood ‒ on the Nürburgring last Tuesday where it was making its laps together with a Pagani Huayra.
The Zonda R was able to lap the 20.8 kilometer long circuit in 6 minutes and 47 seconds. With an increase in power of 800 horsepower and improved aerodynamics the Zonda R Evo should be able to shred a few seconds off the already impressive lap time. The most powerful Pagani Zonda ever made should be able to sprint to 100km/h in 2.7 seconds and its top speed is above the 350km/h.
I think the R Evolution can easily do sub 6:40 with a good driver and dry track. The 6:47 lap had some mistakes in it (gear changes and such) and there was even a repair truck on the track. Can’t wait to see an onboard video and the final time.
Is it me or do we hear the front lip of car scratching the ground at the turn?
