Mercedes presented their flagship V12 Mercedes SL 65 AMG Roadster at the New York Auto Show 2012 today. Its New York debut follows the debut of the SL 63 AMG at the recent Geneva Motor Show.
The twin-turbocharged (M 279) AMG 6.0 liter V12 engine develops a maximum of 630hp and a whopping 1,000Nm of torque. The result is a 0-100km/h sprint of 4 seconds dead, 200km/h in 11.8 seconds and a top sepeed electronically limited to 250km/h. The Sl 65 AMG comes with an AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic tansmission and to please the environmental friends it has a stop-start system as standard.
