BMW released another variant of the BMW 6-Series Coupe and Convertible. The BMW 640d xDrive Coupe and Convertible has an intelligent all-wheel drive and teams up with a six-cylinder in-line diesel engine featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo technology.
The combination of a diesel engine and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive extends the lineup of options available for the BMW 6-Series lineup. The xDrive system distributes the power generated by the engine between the front and rear wheels as the situation demands. An electronic control unit links the xDrive system with the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system.
The new BMW 640d xDrive Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.2 seconds. The 313hp diesel powerplant is linked to a standard-fitted eight-speed Sports automatic gearbox. The engine delivers its peak torque of 630 Newton metres as low down as 1,500-2,500rpm, with maximum output generated at 4,400rpm. The average fuel consumption of the BMW 640d xDrive Coupe stands at 5.7-5.8 liters per 100km or 48.7-49.6mpg.
The new BMW 640d xDrive Coupe and Convertible will be available in the Spring of 2012.
