BMW have officially unveiled details on the 2012 BMW 640d Coupé and 640d Convertible. Both cars feature the new in-line six-cylinder diesel motor featuring common-rail direct injection and twin turbos. Both models feature power ratings of 313hp and 630Nm of torque which makes 0-100km/h in 5.5 seconds possible for the coupé with the convertible coming in 0.1 second slower. To accompany this release BMW have also released the 650i with xDrive all-wheel drive system, both in coupé and convertible form.
BMW have also released the M Sport package for the 6-Series. The kit includes an M aerodynamics package, LED foglamps, 19 inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design, sports seats with Alcantara/leather upholstery and an M leather steering wheel. So far, only Europe will get these upgrades. Whilst we expect the M Sport package to make it to foreign markets, decisions are probably still to be made about the 640d.
