The German car maker Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that it will produce the CLS Shooting Brake concept. The vehicle will hit the markets within the next two years.
The sleek estate show car was unveiled at the Beijing motor show earlier this year. Its CLS-esque front end is combined witih a sloping roofline lower than that of a traditional estate car. All around it is 10cm lower than the E-class estate.
Production will be based at Sindelfingen, already the site of the C-class saloon, E-class saloon and estate, S-class, CLS and CL lines.
It is likely that the Germans extend the line-up of the Shooting brake with an AMG version, powered powered by the same twin-turbocharged V8 powerplant as the CL 63 AMG and S 63 AMG.
