Where supercars often see the release of a more powerful version later, Audi turned things around and launched their more powerful V10 version of the R8 Spyder first. Today however the Audi R8 range is extended with the V8 powered Audi R8 Spyder 4.2 liter FSI. The V8 engine produces 430 hp compared to 525 hp packed in the V10 version.
Top speed of the V8 convertible is limited to 299 km/h and a sprint from 0-100 km/h takes 4.8 seconds. The base price for the V8 version of this amazing convertible is € 121.000 and it will hit the European market in the third quarter of 2010.
