Audi has unveiled the new S5 Sportback at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new sports car is the top model of the new Sportback model series. Under the bonnet you will find a V6 engine with an output of 245kW or 333hp. A seven-speed S tronic gearbox and quattro drive make sure that the power is converted to the road.
On top of that you have a mechanically driven supercharger standard and sport differential available as an option. The six-cylinder unit displaces 2,995cc and delivers a constant 440Nm of torque between 2,900 and 5,300rpm. The five-door coupé sprints from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in only 5.4 seconds and reaches a maximum top speed of 250km/h (155mph).
The S5 Sportback has a sports-tuned chassis, S-design 18-inch cast aluminum wheels with 245/40 tires and black brake calipers with S5 emblems. You can get wheels up to 20 inches. Servotronic speed-sensitive steering is also standard, with dynamic steering optionally available. A standard strut brace provides the front section of the car with additional rigidity.
Audi added a number of exterior refinements to the Sportback. The front blade and the diffuser, the single-frame grille, the air intakes, the sill strip, the spoiler lip at the rear and the four-tailpipe exhaust system are included in the package. The side mirror housings have an aluminum look and the xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights and rear lights are standard.
Inside, the coupé has electrically adjustable S-design sport seats covered in Silk Nappa leather, a black or silver headliner and brushed aluminum inlays. The pointers in the instrument cluster are illuminated white and the color driver information system presents the S5 logo when the car is started.
The Audi S5 Sportback will be available next year. Base price starts at 57,900 euros without taxes.
