Aston Martin Revives Lagonda

Lagonda Badge

The legendary Lagonda brand is about to be relaunched by Aston Martin in a move to expand into different markets and secure it’s long-term future. The Lagonda brand was joined to Aston Martin in 1947 in a move that bought both brands under new ownership. The Aston Martin brand becamemuch more successful, with Lagonda producing the ‘Aston Martin Lagonda’ Saloon in 1989, their last until now. Ulrich Bez (Aston Marin CEO) said ‘The Lagonda brand would allow us to develop cars which can have a different character than a sports car’. Taking into account the companies herritage and Bez’s statement, the Rapide that is currently in development fits the Lagonda mould and may be the first new lagonda. The companies centennial anniversary is next year.
