Hyundai has released a sketch and a plethora of details about its tuning study it will be debuting at SEMA 2015 in Las Vegas next month.
The car has been built by ARK Performance and is evidently based around the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Beneath the skin lies a 4.0-litre V6 engine complete with a Rotrex supercharger. When combined with JE pistons, new rods,a bespoke crankshaft, water/methanol injection kit, new head gaskets, SKR Performance coated headers, downpipes, Lap 3 Korea ECU tuning, a blow off valve and a catback exhaust, the car promises to deliver in excess of 500 hp. Coupled to the engine will be a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels which wear Nitto tyres.
Other noteworthy customisations include a coilover suspension kit, strut tower brace, ARK forged wheels as well as a complete overhauled interior and exterior.
Discussing the car, Hyundai itself says it will be capable of competing with the likes of the BMW M4 and Lexus RC F.
According to marketing and sales manager of ARK Performance, Kevin Bentley said “The Genesis Coupe is the perfect platform for developing our performance product lineup. Hyundai’s 3.8-liter engine is strong enough to handle all the extra power we’re now developing, and the chassis is well balanced and easy to modify, allowing us to create this lowered, aggressive stance while maintaining that clean look we’re going for.”
