A brand new 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 and Mercedes-AMG GT have been declared write-offs after smashing into each other during a company presentation at South Africa’s Zwartkops racetrack.

It is reported that at the time of the crash, the four AMG models were performing a small show for onlookers. As part of the show, the cars were travelling in opposite directions and were meant to weave in between each other.

As the video shows, the first duo consisting of a silver C63 and a red AMG GT completed the stunt but the other two weren’t so lucky. It seems as though the driver of the yellow AMG GT swerved the wrong way, directly into the path of the blue C63. The front-end of the blue C63 ultimately smashed into the side of the yellow AMG GT with significant damage caused to both models.

As the images show, both cars are wrecked. The front bumper, grille, headlight, bonnet and quarter panel of the C63 have been smashed while the door, side skirt and quarter panel of the AMG GT has been severely dinted. The impact was forceful enough for the vehicle’s airbags to be deployed.
