video-SLS-AMG-Crash-Test-450x200

As with all cars, Mercedes-Benz’s latest supercar the SLS AMG has to be crashed tested to be certified as safe for use on the public roads.

This video released by Mercedes-Benz shows the SLS AMG being prepared and tested from various angles. It also shows that in the event that the SLS AMG rolls onto its roof in a crash the gullwing doors will still be able to be opened.

  1. Explosive bolts. Very practical, indeed. If PRE, PASSIVE, AND POST-SAFE will be found on the new SLS then those pyro-bolts will probably be on a time delay or attached to a gyro sensor that will fire the bolts once the car comes to a rest. I’d bet my life on it! Good job Mercedes-Benz.
