For months now, Honda was planning to use a naturally-aspirated V6 engine in the upcoming 2015 Honda NSX. This would then be mated to a three individual electric motors and Honda’s super handling all-wheel drive system.

However, on the eve of the Tokyo Motor Show 2013, Honda has released a mock-up of the 2015 Honda NSX’s powerplant and confirmed that it is actually a twin-turbocharged V6 engine! Additionally, there is word that Honda may increase the displacement of this engine from the original 3.5-liters up to 3.7-liters for that little bit of extra grunt! Unsurprisingly, this new engine will be completely unique to the upcoming NSX and could easily deliver enough power to rival cars such as the McLaren 12C and the Ferrari 458 Italia.
