Having stood back and watched Audi&#8217;s successes with the R8, BMW will now get involved. It&#8217;s being reported that BMW will resurrect the M1 in spirit for 2016, the centenary year for the BMW brand.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing is reported as certain yet, however, M-Division Chief Friedrich Nitschke is keen to make the V8 supercar a reality. The final decision will have to be taken by BMW&#8217;s Chairman Norbert Reithofer who apparently has mixed feelings about the <a href=\"https:\/\/gtspirit.com\/tag\/bmw-m8-prototype\/\">BMW M8<\/a> project.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, you might remember our earlier video about a previously ditched attempt to bring the <a href=\"https:\/\/gtspirit.com\/2011\/04\/03\/video-bmw-m8-prototype-powered-by-mclaren-f1s-v12-engine\/\">BMW M8<\/a> dream into fruition.
