{"id":177336,"date":"2016-07-09T18:10:14","date_gmt":"2016-07-09T16:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gtspirit.com\/?p=177336"},"modified":"2016-07-09T19:35:21","modified_gmt":"2016-07-09T17:35:21","slug":"exclusive-anders-warming-leaves-mini","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gtspirit.com\/2016\/07\/09\/exclusive-anders-warming-leaves-mini\/","title":{"rendered":"Exclusive: Anders Warming Leaves MINI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of BMW&#8217;s star designers is leaving the company: Anders Warming, chief designer of Mini since 2010, has left the BMW Group to follow a new, promising career opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>The Danish-born designer, who was educated at the Art Center College of Design in Vevey\/Switzerland and Pasadena\/Caifornia, served as the BMW brand&#8217;s head of exterior design before moving on to lead Mini design in early 2011. He took over from Gert Hildebrand, who left Mini to head the design department of Qoros, a joint venture between Chery and Israel Corporation.<\/p>\n<p>Under Warming&#8217; lead, Mini launched a number of new models, including the Clubman and the smaller five-door Mini. He led the design of the second-gen Countryman, slated for a debut in late 2016, and he oversaw the stunning Supperleggera concept unveiled at the Concorso d&#8217;Eleganza at Villa d&#8217;Este in 2014.
