The deliveries of the crossover will commence in January 2016. The Bentayga is part of Bentley&#8217;s\u00a0\u00a3840 million investment programme and the first one has been finished in\u00a0Anthracite colour after 130 hours of being handcrafted.<\/p>\n<p>Wolfgang D\u00fcrheimer, Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors, said: \u201cBentley Bentayga will be the benchmark against which all other SUVs are measured, defining a new segment \u2013 the luxury SUV.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He further added: \u201cThis car is a celebration of UK manufacturing at its very best, not only reinforcing our commitment to industry in this country, job creation and significant investment, but to our home in Crewe. SUV passed through a new bodystore, a new paint shop and a new assembly line &#8211; all part of the company&#8217;s mammoth investment.<\/p>\n<p>UK Prime Minister David Cameron commented: \u201cI am delighted that the first Bentley Bentayga has rolled off the production line in Crewe. It marks the culmination of a period of exceptional hard work by Bentley and its dedicated workforce as they brought this remarkable new vehicle to market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bentayga represents an ambitious \u00a3800 million investment into the Crewe factory backed by \u00a39.5 million from the Regional Growth Fund. It has created hundreds of valuable skilled jobs for the area and secured the future of production onsite.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Powering the Bentley Bentayga is the Volkswagen Group\u2019s brand new twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine delivering 600 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque.
