Ahead of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible’s debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2015 next month, it has been revealed that production of the convertible off roader will be limited. The vehicle will be available in Europe, the United States and China as well as other yet-to-be-confirmed markets.

It remains to be seen just how many examples of the Evoque Convertible will be produced but the company has confirmed that only a “small run” will be made at its Halewood factory in England. This news is somewhat surprising considering that the hardtop Evoque is Range Rover’s highest-selling model which in the previous financial year sold a total of 124,000 units.

Stylistically, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible will be based around the recently facelifted Evoque range. As a result, it will feature all of the visual changes adopted by the 2016 model year Range Rover Evoque alongside the implementation of a folding soft-top.

Due to the implementation of the soft-top, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible is pinned to gain about 100 kg over the hardtop due to the additional strengthening required across the floor and boot. As for the folding top itself, the British marque claims that it will fold down in well under 20 seconds.
