With the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2015<\/a> just kicking off, Rolls-Royce<\/a> has announced the fleet of vehicles which it will be bringing to the automotive festiva.<\/p>\n

For starters, the official course car for Goodwood FoS this year with be a Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II complete with LED racing lights. Elsewhere, the Ghost Series II course car is painted in Diamond Black while the roof-mounted race lights have been handcrafted from lightweight and expensive aluminium. Throughout the weekend, the Ghost Series II Course Car will be driven by the company\u2019s chief test driver, David Monks, up the course after each hill climb run.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, the Rolls-Royce Wraith will compete in the Supercar Run and when it isn\u2019t on the famous driveway, it will be on display in the Supercar Paddock. The Wraith in question is painted in Ensign Red while the interior combines black and red leather. Behind the wheel will be test engineer for BMW motorsport, Joerg Weidinger.<\/p>\n

\nRolls-Royce Motor Cars will celebrate the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed with a significant presence on the famous Hillclimb. Ghost Series II and Wraith will be on familiar turf, with Goodwood House within sight of the Home of Rolls-Royce.<\/p>\n

Course Car. The Course Car this year will be a Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II, resplendent with LED race lights. The car is finished in Diamond Black, with the interior in Black and contrasting Hotspur Red leather and Black Stained Ash veneer. The contemporary design for the roof\u2011mounted race lights was handcrafted in aluminium at the manufacturing plant. The Course Car will be driven by David Monks, Chief Tester, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and the car can be seen on the course between each Hillclimb Run throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n

Supercar. The ultimate gentleman\u2019s Gran Turismo, Wraith can be seen on the Supercar Run up the hill and in between Hillclimbs in the Supercar Paddock. The car presented is finished in Ensign Red with contrast silver, with the interior in Black, Seashell and contrasting Hotspur Red leather and a machined metal facia. The coach doors open to reveal Canadel Panelling in Tudor Oak, named after the famous Canadel cove in the South of France where Sir Henry Royce and his design and engineering teams spent their winters. Wraith will be driven by Joerg Weidinger, a champion mountain and hillclimb driver and Test Engineer for BMW Motorsport.<\/p>\n

Both cars were built specifically for the event and feature unique Bespoke treadplates that read: \u2018Hand built in Goodwood, England for the Festival of Speed 2015\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Purple Rolls-Royce. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars recently announced a year-long initiative to support Together for Short Lives, the UK children\u2019s palliative care charity. To help the organisation raise awareness of its activities, and raise vital funds to continue delivering its vital work, the Company has donated a Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II for a year, wrapped in the charity\u2019s bright purple colour scheme and Together for Short Lives branding. The Ghost Series II will be used by the charity as it embarks on the \u2018Ready to Roll\u2019 tour, visiting all four corners of Britain, starting in October. The car can be seen on the Supercar Run up the hill and in between Hillclimbs in the Supercar Paddock, with a supporting team promoting the charitable initiative. An exclusive fleet of Rolls-Royce motor cars will also be evident in the Goodwood area during the Festival of Speed, with invited VIP guests being conveyed in luxury from the Company\u2019s manufacturing plant and head office on the South-Eastern corner of the Goodwood Estate.
