Here it is! The Lamborghini Centenario has been officially released at the Geneva Motor Show 2016. The latest special edition Lamborghini will cost 1.75 million euros plus local taxes and will be built as a limited production run of 20 coupes and 20 roadsters. Naturally, all 40 cars are spoken for.

The Lamborghini Centenario pays homage to Lamborghini’s founder, Ferrucio Lamborghini on the 100th anniversary of his birth. It is the most powerful Lamborghini to date with a naturally aspirated V12 engine pushing 770 hp. Performance is similarly impressive with 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0 to 300 km/h in 23.5 km/h in 23.5 seconds and a top speed in excess of 350 km/h.

Lamborghini have fitted the Centenario with rear wheel steering, all wheel drive and a new carbon fibre monocoque. The body is fully carbon fibre and the Centenario is packed full of technology. In spite of this, the Lamborghini weighs in at just 1,520 kg with a power to weight ratio of 1.97 kg/hp. Torsional stiffness is 35,000 Nm per degree.

Inside, the 10.1 inch touchscreen receives internet, web radio, telemetry and Apple CarPlay. The interior can be tailored to customer specifications with lightweight carbon fibre seats, new stitching patterns for all the important parts.

In terms of aerodynamics, the Lamborghini Centenario uses an extending rear wing with an absolutely massive rear diffuser, and a very stylish exhaust layout. The profile is pure wedge, with a low front and massive vents in the side and front bonnet. The overhangs are long and low for both the front and rear. The Centenario measures 4.924 m long and 1.143 m high.

The body of the Centenario is gloss carbon fibre, it gets the characteristic V12 scissor door panels. The lower parts are matt carbon fibre and provide a contrast. The Centenario gets irregular wheel arches, both front and rear finished in matt carbon fibre and airflow ducts. Special Pirelli PZero
tyres have been developed to sit on exclusive 20”/21” front/rear centre locking rims in forged and milled aluminium. The Centenario gets carbon ceramic brakes.

The wing height varies depending upon the Driving Mode, the wing extends to 150mm and rotates up to 15 degrees. The ISR transmission gets three Lamborghini driving modes, Strada, Sport and Corsa, which makes adjustments to Lamborghini’s magneto rheological suspension and Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS), especially tuned for the Centenario’s.

Although the show car is an entirely carbon fiber finish, clients can specify their Centenario in exposed carbon fiber or any colour and finish from Lamborghini’s Ad Personam personalisation programme.
