The Blades are a British acrobatic aircraft display team made up of former RAF fast-jet pilots and former Red Arrows. Recently, an Aston Martin employee attended an event with The Blades and was inspired to build an aircraft-inspire V8 Vantage through the automaker’s recently introduced ‘Q by Aston Martin’ personalization service.

The result is the unique Aston Martin V8 Vantage S Blades Edition, which was discussed at length in a Piston Heads post by the Aston Martin employee. He said a total of five cars will be built, each coming with its own unique identifier linking it directly to one of The Blades’ Extra 300LP and Extra 300SC aircraft.

So far customers have reserved four of the five available V8 Vantage S Blades Editions. All cars come equipped with Aston Martin’s 430 horsepower V8 engine and unique ‘Q’ touches including a Jet Black painted rear decklid, a Jet Black Roof Panel, a V12 Vantage S carbon fibre front grille, a monochrome Union Jack fender badge, leather accents both inside and out and a ‘The Blades’ logo embroidered in the front seats, among much more.

Making the Vantage S The Blades Edition even more special is the vehicle handover day in late March. A full day of activities with The Blades team has been scheduled and will be held at The Blades’ Hanger at Sywell Aerodrome. Attendees will get a chance to participate in an Aerobatic flight experience with The Blades, take helicopter flying lessons and watch a full Blades airshow performance.

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage S The Blades edition will start at £119,950, with the only option being the Sportshift II gearbox at £5,000.
