The Azamanta superyacht by Heesen Yachts makes our Superyacht Sunday feature today. She’s the world’s first fast displacement steel yacht over 50 meters, born out of a collaboration between Heesen Yachts and Van Oossanen Naval Architects. The latter was also responsible for making other fast displacement yachts such as the 65-meter Galactica Star from Heesen albeit in aluminum.

Superyacht Azamanta was delivered to her owners in July 2015 after undergoing sea trials in the North Sea. She is adorned with a striking exterior design by Omega Architects featuring a golden color scheme and an ice-reinforced steel hull. The superstructure is made of aluminum. Sinot Design took care of the interior design which is highlighted by modern art in a metropolitan manner.

With an overall length of 55 meters, the Azamanta superyacht can easily achieve a top speed of 16.5 knots while cruising at half load. The yacht can achieve a cruising range of 4,500Nm at an average speed 13 knots thanks to the two MTU 12V 4000 M53 engines rated at 1,380kW each.

The superstructure features a revolutionized “shark tooth” design above the wheelhouse, while large vertical windows allow for maximum natural light in the cabins and decks. The enormous sun deck measures 110 square meters and if fitted with a large jacuzzi that can be covered away allowing the sun deck to be transformed into a stage for live performances or parties.

The owner has a private section in his suite with a six top dining table for private dinners. Azamanta can accommodate 10 more guests comfortably.
