Just about a year after the 2015 Audi Q7 was revealed in Europe, the new premium SUV has arrived on U.S shores as a 2017 model and with a $55,750 sticker price.

Interestingly, the United States is initially only receiving one powertrain, a 3.0-litre TFSI V6 pumping out 333 hp and 325 lb-ft. Mated to that engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission driving all-four wheels and when combined with a selection of off-roading tech, the new Audi Q7 proves a very versatile SUV and we know first hand.

Pricing for the 2017 Q7 starts at $55,750 with the entry-level Premium trim. The price climbs to $59,750 for the Premium Plus while customers looking for the Prestige Plus model will need to hand over $65,250.

On a technology front, the Audi virtual cockpit with a 12.3-inch TFT display is certainly one of the key highlights. Additionally, an impressive 23 surround-sound system from Bang & Olufsen complete with two subwoofers and a 1920 watt amplifier provide the Audi Q7 with one of the best audio systems in the market.

Compared to the previous-generation Audi Q7, the new car is especially noteworthy for its new chassis and lightweight body which sheds 325 kg over the previous car.
