You’re Not Dreaming; First Personal Jetpack Flies Around New York

It is something that many have dreamed about for decades; personal jetpacks. Now, a company dubbed JetPack Aviation has turned that dream into a reality with the debut of the JB-9 JetPack, proclaimed to be the “world’s first only true JetPack”. To show off their creation, a brave pilot took to the waters around the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

The JB-9 JetPack is powered by two advanced air turbine jet engines which help make the JB-9 the smallest and lightest JetPack conceived and built. The company claims that the pack has the potential to send pilots up to 10,000 feet in altitude and propel them forward at speeds over 160 km/h all for around 10 minutes.

JetPack Aviation has bold plans to introduce the JB-9 to the market and is also developing a selection of advanced new systems to make it especially appealing. These include a ballistic parachute which can automatically deploy if a failure with the JB-9 is detected. What’s more, they are also developing a hands-free version and are interested in setting up a JetPack racing series!

The future is here people, get exicted.
