Thanks to its Lamborghini Gallardo derived 5.2-litre V10 engine, the Audi R8 can be easily and reliably twin-turbo’d just like its Italian brother. While twin-turbo R8 V10s certainly aren’t as commonplace as TT Gallardo’s, they can be just as fast and the following from Underground Racing, just so happens to be the world’s most powerful and fastest.

At the most recent King of the Streets drag racing in the United States, this burnt orange R8 V10 GT delivering in excess of 2100 hp managed to defeat some truly insane creations including a 1500 hp Chevrolet Corvette. Additionally, it managed to nudge out a twin-turbo Gallardo also delivering over 2100 hp.

Rather amazingly, the R8 even triumphed over a T1 modified Nissan GT-R with 2200 hp. Making this feat all the more impressive is the fact that the R8 was rolling on street tyres, while the GT-R features ultra-sticky drag tyres!
